When it is combined with NetVault
®: Backup, the VaultDR
Plugin Module ensures that your data will be available quickly in the
event of a catastrophic failure. VaultDR is easy to use — and all
operations can be managed from the central NetVault: Backup server:
- During the regularly scheduled period, a DR image of a live
system can be taken online, or
- An administrator can take the necessary client machine offline,
boot it with the tools provided in the VaultDR Plugin Module, and
take an offline image.
- From the NetVault: Backup server, the administrator selects the
disk and partition(s) to be backed up and creates the image with
VaultDR.
- In the event of a catastrophe or disk failure, the administrator
needs only to boot the affected machine with the tools provided in
the VaultDR Plugin Module.
- The administrator can then recover, over the network, the image
created by VaultDR.
Fast, Efficient, and Easy to Use
The VaultOS operating system of the VaultDR Plugin Module, for Intel
x86 or Solaris (SPARC) clients, and the bootable CD-ROM, for Linux
Online DR clients, both allow for the recovery of data without having to
reinstall the operating system.
Point-and-click selection is integrated into the main NetVault:
Backup GUI.
