The HP 9000 includes the following features:

- Supported by HP-UX 11i OS binary, source and data compatibilities

- 4000+ applications now available on HP Integrity servers
These features also allow customers to leverage up to 80 percent of their initial server investment when they upgrade their HP 9000 server to an HP Integrity server platform.
With the latest version of the HP-UX 11i operating environment on both HP 9000 and HP Integrity servers, customers get industry-leading, integrated and secure virtualization with the HP Virtual Server Environment for HP-UX 11i (vPars, Secure Partitions). The HP Virtual Server Environment (VSE) is designed to allow enterprises to achieve a greater return on their IT investments by optimizing server resource utilization on a real-time basis according to business priorities.
HP-UX 11i also provides strong investment protection with built-in application and data compatibility between HP 9000 and HP Integrity servers for an easy transition path to HP Integrity servers.
