| The 3590 Model A14 frame is a frame box that is designed for mounting 3590 Model E11, B11, or B1A Tape Drives attached to 3590 Model A60 Controllers for connection to ESCON or FICON channels on ES/3090, ES/9000, S/390, or zSeries systems. The Model A60 can contain up to eight ESCON channel attachments, up to two FICON attachments, or an intermix of ESCON and FICON. The Model A14 can contain one Model A60 Controller and up to four Model E11 Tape Drives (or up to four Model B11 Tape Drives). The Model A14 can alternatively contain up to two Model A50 or A00 Controllers and up to four Model E11 Tape Drives (or up to four Model B11 Tape Drives) for attachment to ESCON channels on host systems.
